Swarm Defense Technologies announced it has been selected as one of 25 companies to compete in Phase I of the U.S. Department of War’s $1.1 billion Drone Dominance Program, which aims to deliver hundreds of thousands of attack drones to U.S. forces by 2028. Drawing on eight years of drone manufacturing in Detroit and technology developed through drone light shows, the company is scaling production capacity while leveraging proprietary swarm coordination software that allows a single operator to control thousands of drones safely and efficiently. Leaders say the program reflects lessons from modern conflicts like Ukraine, where low cost, rapidly deployable drones have reshaped warfare, and positions American-made, NDAA compliant drone systems and Detroit’s manufacturing base as critical to future defense capability.
